My night shift ended with a blast from a parent.

I'm stucked with a vietnamese boy since 9.30pm til 1am. His condition was very bad, BMA done for him in the afternoon, platelet was 10 K then. BMA site was bleeding profusely when i take over. Practically active oozing of blood, despite changing his dressing, reinforced with gauze and pressure bandage. Started platelet transfusion for him, anyway, i was in his room all way. There were some mis-communication as well, they cant understand me and i cant understand them. Its literally in a lose-lose situation. One chicken and one duck communicating. Then he presented with haematuria (blood in the urine), haemetemesis (blood in the vomitus), registrar reviewed him for the night and decided to send him down to High dependency for close monitoring. He's bleeding everywhere, GIT, Bladder, BMA site. It was a relief for me anyway!

Yeap, so basically although i was in charge of 6 patients that night, however i did not really have the time to check the other 5 patients as from the report taking that i received, they are quite stable for the night.

the rest to be continued..................
